Join the premiere hospitality team at the Holiday Inn is located in the heart of the downtown area, just steps from Chukchansi Park, home of the Fresno Grizzlies and a few blocks from Sell and Arena home of the Fresno Falcons. Principle responsibilities and basic function:
The Director of Sales is responsible for the leadership and management of all aspects of revenue generation at the hotel to include direct sales, room sales, and food & beverage sales.
Maintain effective relationships with all associates throughout the hotel in order to provide a strong, supportive and objective environment.
Develop and execute annual business plan.
Coach, mentor, cultivate and motivate a team of professionals to effectively maximize profit for the hotel.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
50% effectively supervise sales force organization segmentation to reach budget sales goals.
Responsible for average group rate, group bookings.
Produce and execute marketing plan and financial overview.
Direct all forecasting activities within the hotel.
Develop sales contracts.
Develop and maintain solicitation responsibility for key accounts.
Develop quarterly plans and actions to support and execute the annual marketing plan for all segments and outlets
Conduct performance appraisals.
Develop promotions for the hotel to increase revenue opportunities.
Plan and prepare advertising and promotional materials.
Director of Sales & Marketing to plan and execute customer communications activities, i.e. advertising, direct mail.
Supervise the reservation and yield management function to effectively maximize room revenue opportunities for the hotel.
Manage pricing policy at the hotel.
Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor to include cross-training.
5% conduct daily Business Review Meetings.
Control and approve release of all meeting and catering space, rates and concessions.
Approve contracts. Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL:
College graduate or equivalent industry experience.
Five years experience as a manager within the Sales & Marketing department, preferably a four-diamond hotel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to utilize them effectively in English with guests, peers and associates.
Ability to work under stressful conditions and balance multiple commitments simultaneously.
Strong customer service aptitude.
Understanding of budgetary and fiscal responsibility within the department.
Familiarity with all operational areas of the hotel.
