POSITION SUMMARY
The position is responsible for assisting the Buyer in all processes related to the buying of merchandise within the specific area of responsibility including analyzing sales and inventory levels, managing OTBs, ensuring replenishment on best sellers, managing markdowns for seasonal products, coordinating with content, creative and marketing teams on new product additions/deletions and new brand launches, and training customer service team on new brand launches.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
OTB, Order Placement and Replenishment:
Reconcile OTB receipts on a monthly basis and manage receipts and cancellations as orders are placed/updated.
Place re-orders as required on items/brands identified as basic within OTB projections.
Support Buyer in placing market orders includes preparing and entering POs into purchase order system and maintaining accurate Vendor records.
Communicate and follow-up with Vendors to ensure merchandise deliveries are met within ship windows and secure cancellations as needed.
Inventory Management:
Collaborate with Buyer on controlling, balancing and disposing of the inventory to achieve the gross margin plan and maximize sales and profitability.
Review style sell-through analysis weekly with next step recommendations to Buyer.
Identify strong and weak sellers and develop action plan with team.
Communicate weekly or monthly with brands (as determined with Buyer) on sales and performance relative to plan. Develop action plans to ensure financial objectives are met.
Execute timely markdowns on seasonal products.
E-Store:
Create Skus for new products.
Communicate new product additions with creative, content and copy writers by organizing and leading kick off presentations.
Recommend product to feature on the site and in email campaigns to help achieve brand and category sales goals.
Review warehouse receiving report and corresponding asset readiness daily for timely product launch. Review the site daily to insure that there are no problems with the presentation. Communicate issues to appropriate content/creative/IT teams and follow up with correction time line.
Manage samples process for photo shoots includes communicating with Vendors to ensure samples are received in a timely manner and ensuring that they are returned in the same way. Work closely with photography team to help plan monthly photo shoots.
Other:
Maintain currency with fashion industry and trends via periodicals and local market surveys.
Ensure strong competitor knowledge brand line-up, new products, markdowns - via internet search and local market surveys.
Submit monthly activity report and month end brand highlights to Buyer.
Participate in all sales and marketing meetings.
Seek out new and exciting product lines and brands in the marketplace and suggest additional items for the Contemporary assortment.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
College degree or equivalent experience.
2-3 years retail assistant Buyer experience.
E-Commerce experience desirable.
